Advent Reading – Deacons
Congregational Prayer of Confession (In Unison)
We confess, O Lord, that we do not always have the patience of the saints or the perseverance of Job. We have a hard time finding the quiet center in the midst of this busy season. Forgive us, Lord, for getting stuck in the clutter and chaos, the to-do lists and waiting tasks. Forgive us for being blind to others' pain and needs. We are busy and do much, but not always for the least among us. Clear our eyes that we can see and do the things that really matter. Help us to be at peace and to bring peace. In Christ's name, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be. World without end. Amen. Amen.
Anthem Away in a Manger
Prayer of the People and The Lord's Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Offertory What Child is This?
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
*Prayer of Dedication
*Hymn #259 Angels from the Realms of Glory
New Testament Reading John 1:1-18
Sermon Welcome to the Neighborhood
*The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*Hymn #271 Joyful, Joyful, We adore You
Charge and Benediction
Go now in peace; never be afraid,
God will go with you each hour of every day.
Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.
Know He will guide you in all you do.

Reach out to others so all the world can see.
God will be there watching from above.
