Children's Sermon

Congregational Prayer of Confession (In Unison)

Almighty God, we confess that we are caught up in the activities of the world around us.  We confess that we rarely take time for You.  There are many distractions in our lives that take us away from family and friends, even from knowing ourselves.  However, we often neglect spending intentional time in prayer, meditation, and reflection with You.  Forgive us.  Help us to turn away from the noise of the world and to pay attention to Your voice.  Help us to rise above the distractions and feel the rhythm of the world’s needs for justice and reconciliation.  Call us back to You, to one another, and to ourselves, to remember Your created intention for us, to love You and to love one another.  In the name of Christ we pray.  Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

*Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.  World without end.  Amen.  Amen.

Sermon                                    “Are We Listening?”

*The Apostles Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified dead, and buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.  I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

*Benediction Response

Go now in peace; never be afraid,

God will go with you each hour of every day.

Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true.

Know He will guide you in all you do.

Go now in love, and show you believe.

Reach out to others so all the world can see.

God will be there watching from above.

Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.
